Waspmote is based on a modular architecture.
The LoRa module uses the SPI pins for communication. The SPI port allows more speed communication and frees up the Waspmote’s UART for other purposes. The Expansion Board allows connecting two communication modules at the same time in the Waspmote sensor platform. This means a lot of different combinations are possible using any of the radios available for Waspmote and the LoRa module.
LoRa contains only the link layer protocol and is perfect to be used in P2P communications between nodes.
The WiFi PRO module is managed by UART and it can be connected to two sockets. The main features of the modules are:
The Waspmotes Gases 2.0 board has been designed to monitor environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, Atmospheric pressure and 14 different types of gases.
It allows the inclusion of 7 gases sensors at the same time, the regulation of their power through a system of solid state switches and the amplification of the output signal of each one of them through a non-inverting amplification stage of a maximum gain of 101 controlled by a digital potentiometer configurable through the Inter-Integrated Circuit Bus, I2C)
The Waspmote Prototyping Board 2.0 has been designed to make it as easy as possible for the user to integrate any type of sensor. With this aim in mind, the board has been endowed with a 16 bit analog-digital converter (ADC) which provides up to a 68 uV resolution in a 0 to 4.5 V range for a differential input; an area of independent pads where pins, cables, passives or DIP encapsulated integrated circuits can be welded; and an area for SMD encapsulated integrated circuits upon which various circuits or sockets with different sizes can be mounted.
The Waspmote Plug & Sense! line allows you to easily deploy Internet of Things networks in an easy and scalable way, ensuring minimum maintenance costs. The platform consists of a robust waterproof enclosure with specific external sockets to connect the sensors, the solar panel, the antenna and even the USB cable in order to reprogram the node. It has been specially designed to be scalable, easy to deploy and maintain.
The Smart Environment PRO model has been created as an evolution of Smart Environment. It enables the user to implement pollution, air quality, industrial, environmental or farming projects with high requirements in terms of high accuracy, reliability and measurement range as the sensors come calibrated from factory.
